Safeguarding Children and Staff During the Pandemic

First, we hope everyone is staying safe and sane during this difficult time. Several of you have inquired as to how Lao Friends Hospital For Children has been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Laos has confirmed 19 cases of the virus so far. Our hospital is not currently treating any affected patients but we have a detailed protocol in place for screening them and staff safety. Our international volunteers returned to their home countries, so expat and Lao staff are working tirelessly to be able to continue to provide free and compassionate care for those who need it. We have temporarily suspended a few of our programs, trying to limit the presence of those who may be infected from entering the hospital. Obviously, we have had to cancel all our global fundraising events. ANY help you can contribute will help us remain operating at capacity as COVID-19 affects Laos and dengue season approaches. Thank you!
