Run for the Children: Luang Prabang Half Marathon

Since 2016, the race has been an annual fundraising event for Lao Friends Hospital for Children. All money raised supports the hospital’s mission to provide free medical care to children in Laos.

The race is held in October because it is typically the end of the rainy season, but not yet the peak of the tourist season. Early morning is the coolest time of day, so the race begins at 5 a.m.

The route runs along the riverside and passes UNESCO-protected buildings and temples. Information about the half marathon can be seen here.
