Meet 9-year-old Yong Wa, the first child hospitalized at LFHC when it opened in 2015. One of 21 children, she came to the hospital from a small village in Chompet District, just across the Mekong River from Luang Prabang. Her father brought her to the hospital when she became ill with a high fever. She was diagnosed with severe typhoid by LFHC’s staff. During her five-night stay, she received fluids for dehydration, IV antibiotics and compassionate care from the Lao nursing team. Additionally, her family was provided guidance on improved personal hygiene practices,
Families often travel great distances to receive the free, compassionate medical care provided by LFHC.
Your support to adopt a patient delivers full medical care and health education to many children, just like Yong Wa.
