Adopt a Patient and Save a Child’s Life
Your contribution of only $45 provides:
A 2-night hospital stay for a patient in the Inpatient Department of Lao Friends Hospital for Children, including: 24-hour medical staffing, antibiotics, fluids and other life-saving medications; consumables for treatments and operations; and all associated hospital costs.
Meet our very first inpatient, a 9-year old Hmong girl named Yong Wa. One of 21 children, she came to the hospital from a small village in Chompet District, just across the Mekong River from Luang Prabang town. Her father brought her in with complaints of a high fever and dehydration, and she was eventually diagnosed with severe typhoid by LFHC’s staff. During her 5-night stay, she received fluids for dehydration, IV antibiotics, guidance on improved personal hygiene practices, and compassionate care from the Lao nursing team before being discharged and sent home to her family. Inpatients commonly travel from great distances to receive compassionate care at LFHC, and are commonly diagnosed with severe illnesses such as typhoid fever, malaria, malnutrition, or pneumonia.
Your support to adopt a patient brings full medical care and health education to many children, just like Yong Wa.
